List of Machines The Sewing Machine Shop Does Not Preform Work On
While we work on a wide breadth of machines across many brands, there are a handful of machines that are on our “no fly list”. These machines do not get checked-in for tune-ups or repairs for different reasons. Some machines are of such an age that a tune up is not a solution and parts are no longer available. Sometimes a machine requires specialized tools, manuals, knowledge that our shop doesn’t have access to. Most commonly a machine model is on this list because we truly believe the machine is not worth fixing; it will take more labor and cost in parts than the machine’s value and the better solution would be to purchase a new (or pre-owned) machine that is serviceable.
This is a list of machines we do not perform work on:
- Viking / Husqvarna Sewing Machines (Exceptions for Viking Mega Quilter)
- Pfaff 12 series (Does your Pfaff model start with the number 12?)
- Singer machines (With exception to Straight Stitch ONLY models, Featherweight 221)
- First generation elna computerized machines
- Bernina 1080,1090,1120,1130,1230,1260,1530 Series with TIMING ISSUE
- Some specialized industrial machines such as blind hemmers, call to confirm
- “Toy” machines, machines not built to a quality standard worth fixing
If you’re unsure on whether or not we will work on your machine, you are welcome to call and find out. Also, we welcome any type of machine in our shop for a quick look. Many times a small issue can be fixed with a fresh needle and properly threading the machine.
