The Janome HD8 is designed around doing one thing exceptionally well: creating a beautiful straight stitch with the speed and control serious sewists demand.

With a maximum sewing speed of 1,600 stitches per minute, the HD8 is considerably faster than a conventional domestic sewing machine. Whether you’re piecing a quilt, sewing garments, constructing bags, or working through long seams, the HD8 gives you the speed to work efficiently while still providing excellent control.

A built-in speed control slider lets you limit the machine’s maximum speed when you’re working on detailed areas and open it up when you’re ready to take advantage of its full 1,600 SPM capability.

Industrial-Style Rotary Hook & Jumbo Bobbin

At the heart of the Janome HD8 is a vertical full rotary industrial-style hook system.

This system contributes to the smooth and consistent straight-stitch performance that makes Janome’s high-speed straight-stitch machines so popular among serious quilters and sewists.

The HD8 also uses a 1.4x jumbo bobbin, providing additional thread capacity compared with a conventional domestic bobbin. That means fewer interruptions to change bobbins during large quilts, long seams, and high-volume sewing projects.

An independent bobbin winding motor allows the bobbin winding system to operate separately from the machine’s main sewing mechanism.

Up to 11 Pounds of Presser Foot Pressure
