Love your BSR and How to Apply it to Free Motion Quilting

In this class, we will discuss the features of the BSR and how to apply to your free motion quilting, and
we will explore the option of using twin needles to make a unique appearance on your quilt. Instructor
will introduce free motion fill stitches that are suitable for beginners, and you will have plenty of time to
practice during class.

Required Supplies:

  •  Bernina sewing machine with BSR capability
  •  BSR foot
  •  A straight needle plate AND a zig zag needle plate
  •  Slide on table comes with your machine OR a portable table you purchased from Sew Steady
  •  3 to 4 quilt sandwiches, approximately 18” x 22” fat quarter size. Quilt sandwich is often
    referred to with a piece of top fabric, batting and backing fabric. Avoid dark color fabrics.
    Soft color with less busy prints or solid colors are prefer, so you can see your stitches.
  •  Any brand of sliders to make your table smooth*
  • Threads: Top and bobbin threads: Isacord 40wt. polyester, Aurifil 40wt./50wt. cotton*. Avoid
    dark color threads.
  • Basic notions: small trimming scissors, markers, seam ripper

Optional:  Schmetz Topstitch Twin Needle size 90/14, size 3.0*

Note: Your machine needs to be in working condition.
